Providing support and guidance for healthier lives.
September first, Alyssa will be joining the team! I am so excited to welcome Alyssa. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the lived experience of a neurodiverse person with ADHD. She brings a joyful countenance to her work, and with a trauma-informed background, she offers our clients the safe space they need to explore growth and healing.
Alyssa has worked in the public sector, supporting folks who struggle and has a deep level of compassion and empathy for those around her. Alyssa and I both previously worked for the South Okanagan Women in Need Society (SOWINS), I not only know Alyssa in the capacity of seeing the work she does with her clients, but I also know our values align in client care and the need for trauma-informed practice.
At Dandelion Counselling Services, I don't take adding additional counsellors lightly and prioritize making sure the counsellors selected to join the team have lived experience as Neuro-Diverse individuals, have a high standard of care for their clients and are neuro-affirming in practice.
If you are interested in booking a free 15-minute consultation with Alyssa, please add her name to the Contact form below when you reach out.
Join me in welcoming Alyssa to the team!

Hi there! My name is Alyssa Brewer, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#19269), supporting clients on their journeys of trauma, substance use, and neurodiversity. Having lived experience with ADHD and chronic pain, I deeply understand the challenges that come with navigating a world that isn’t always designed for our brains and bodies. This perspective allows me to approach therapy with compassion, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for each person’s unique journey.
Using a blend of EMDR, ACT, DBT, and somatic therapies, I help clients navigate the complexities of healing, emotional regulation, and nervous system balance. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and empowering—I meet you where you are with curiosity and care, helping you build resilience, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with your sense of self.
I am also a proud LGBTQ2S+ ally, committed to creating a safe, inclusive space where all identities and lived experiences are honoured. Whether you're working through trauma, navigating chronic pain, or seeking tools for self-growth, I am here to support you with evidence-based strategies, deep empathy, and a belief in your capacity to heal.

At Dandelion Counselling Services, our mission is to help families and individuals build stronger, healthier relationships through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
We take a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to counseling that focuses on identifying each family's unique strengths and challenges. Our goal is to empower families to create positive change that lasts.
We offer a range of services to meet the needs of families, including individual and family counseling, parent coaching, and workshops on topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and parenting.
We provide Individual Counselling for those who are seeking support through life’s changes and challenges.
Individual counselling is available for those who have been diagnosed Autistic or have ADHD. Whether newly diagnosed, late diagnosis or early diagnosis individual counselling can offer support for those who have experienced additional stress or anxieties related to being an Autistic person.
Individuals who are working through spiritual questioning or Deconstruction from a religious centre can also find support through individual counselling.
We offer counselling services for teenagers who are struggling with various issues, such as anxiety, self-esteem, and peer pressure. We provide a safe and supportive environment for teens to explore their emotions and develop healthy coping skills.
We offer counselling services to families who are working through the day to day difficulties of life, families with teenagers and also families who are supporting a family member who is Neurodivergent. Another counselling service that is offered is Co-Parent counselling for those families who have separated or divorced and need some support navigating parenting in two separate households or who are blending their families.
We provide counselling services for blended families to help them navigate the unique challenges of blending two families together. We help families build trust, communicate effectively, and create a healthy family dynamic.
We offer parenting classes to help parents develop effective parenting skills and strategies. Our classes cover a range of topics, from positive discipline to communication skills.
Ensuring a great fit in the client counsellor relationship is important, and is paramount in facilitating personal growth and the journey towards healing. When a client feels a deep sense of trust and connection with their counsellor, they are more likely to open up and share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. This level of trust creates a safe and non-judgmental space, allowing the client to explore their vulnerabilities and confront the root causes of their struggles.
